We have decided to make a slight name change to our direct mount extruders for FPF printing. Currently, we have been using MDPH, the abbreviation for Massive Dimension Pellet Head. The question came up as to what is a Pellet Head? We were not sure how the name conveyed the meaning of what the product does. When naming a product it is important to name such a product in a way that conveys to customers what the product does. The current name we use does not convey what the MDPH unit does. Therefore we are going to change the MDPH to MDPE, this stands for Massive Dimension Particle Extruder. The idea here is that a “Particle Extruder” alines better with the operation of the product.
As of releasing this blog post we have the MDPH2, a direct mount large format pellet extruder that outputs 2lbs per hour during printing. The MDPH2 name will be changed to MDPE2. We will soon be launching the MDPE10, a direct mount large format pellet extruder that has an output of 10lbs per hour during operation. All future larger systems will follow this new name designation.
Our hope is that this little change makes a little more sense.
